Getting started

What is Onlyoss?
Onlyoss is where a martial artist's rank is made provable. You publish a profile — your discipline, your rank, your competition record — and your academy verifies the rank it awarded you. Anyone can then check it, instead of taking your word for it.

Is it free?
Yes. Creating an account, publishing your profile at onlyoss.com/{username}, listing your martial art and rank, recording a competition result, having your rank verified by your academy, and sharing your page and QR code all cost nothing. The free plan will always be free.

Is anything for sale here?
Not today. There is nothing to buy on the Platform at present. Two paid plans are in development — Premium and Academy — and neither is on sale yet. See the Pricing page for what they will cost when they launch.

Do members sell things to each other?
No. Onlyoss is the only seller on this Platform. Members do not set prices, do not charge each other for content, do not receive tips, and do not hold a balance or take a payout. There is no marketplace, no account credit and no wallet. If you arrange training with somebody you met here, that is between the two of you, off the Platform — we are not a party to it and we do not handle payment for it.

Do I need to be experienced?
No. A white belt on their first week has the same profile as a black belt, and the same claim to have it verified.

Rank and verification

How does rank verification work?
You record the rank you were awarded and name the academy that awarded it. The claim goes to that academy, and it is marked verified only once they confirm it. Two parties are involved on purpose: the person who received the rank, and the school that gave it.

What if my academy is not on Onlyoss yet?
Your rank stays on your profile as claimed but unverified until they join and confirm it. You can point your instructor at the founding cohort, which is free and where we set schools up by hand.

Can an academy remove a verification?
Yes. An academy can retract a verification it previously gave. The rank stays on your profile as your own claim; it simply stops being verified.

Can I verify my own rank?
No, and this is the point of the product. Verification authority belongs to the academy, and it is granted by us to a claimed school. Nobody can confirm their own rank, and no setting on your account changes that.

Using the platform

What can I upload?
Images and video. Video should be uploaded as MP4 — other formats are not converted automatically and may be rejected.

Can I message another member?
Yes, if they have messaging enabled. Members set their own availability, so response times vary.

Can I download content to watch offline?
No. Content is licensed for viewing on the Platform. Recording, copying, or redistributing it breaches our Terms and can result in your account being closed.

Who owns what I publish?
You do. You grant us a licence to host and show it on the Platform. See the Contributor Agreement for the detail.

Something is not loading.
Try a hard refresh first, then a different browser. If it persists, email support@onlyoss.com with your username, the page, and what you saw. Screenshots help.

Academies

How does an academy join?
We set every academy up by hand — instructor verified, roster loaded, first confirmations issued alongside you. Apply through the founding cohort page. Nothing is charged, and applying does not create an account.

What can an academy do that a member cannot?
Confirm or retract a rank claimed under its name. That authority is granted by us to a school we have verified, and it cannot be self-assigned.

Training safely

Is this content safe to follow at home?
Martial arts and fitness training carry a real risk of injury. Consult a doctor before starting any programme, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, are returning from injury, or have not trained recently. Work within your ability, warm up, and stop if something hurts. You train at your own risk — see section 4 of our Terms.

Paying, when there is something to pay for

How will billing work?
When the paid plans launch, a plan will be sold by Onlyoss directly, charged to your card on a monthly or annual cycle by our payment provider. Your card details never touch our servers. There is no account credit and no wallet — you will not top anything up.

Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time, from your settings, with no cancellation fee. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. See the Refund Policy.

Account and privacy

How do I change my email or password?
In your account settings. Changing your email requires confirming the new address.

How do I delete my account?
From your account settings. Some records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. See our Privacy Policy.

What do you do with my data?
We use it to run your account and never sell it. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what we collect and who we share it with.
